"After you get up you think about what you want to eat for breakfast. After breakfast you think about what you want to eat for lunch. Then after lunch you think about what you want to eat for dinner. Just boring life." -Shanshan Feng (aka all of us the last year)

Hey y’all -

I feel like it’s the calm before the storm for Fore the Ladies. In less than two weeks, we’ll be hosting our next clinics in Washington D.C., and Baltimore and we’re really rolling from there! We’ve added new events to our website (sup, Portland?) and we’ll be adding more golf getaway information soon …

What a cool weekend for women’s golf, too. Tsubasa Kajitani of Japan won in a sudden-death playoff to capture the second Augusta National Women’s Amateur title, while Patty Tavatanakit won her first major AND LPGA Tour title at the ANA Inspiration. Lydia Ko made a serious charge in the final round, tying the course record (are you not entertained?!). The women are setting the bar for major championships early.

I also hope you’ll join us for our Good Moves Only fitness series with Samantha Rothberg. Scroll to bottom of this newsletter for more info!

Now that more than ~200 lAdIeS~ are in the Fore the Ladies Tee Sheet, I encourage y’all to reach out to women in your area and set up some golf! I teed it up with some ladies in Ohio this past weekend and I wouldn’t have if I didn’t have this awesome directory. Tee it up, take some pics, tag @foretheladies on insta.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Our flagship program - Fore the Ladies Intro to Golf Clinics - are SO BACK BABY. We’ll be rolling out more of these, so keep an eye on our events page.

See you soon!

At the risk of sounding like a HomeGoods decorative sign, the quote "you can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf" from Zen Golf has been resonating with me recently. This book investigates the connection between Zen practice and golf, and gives you mental exercises and tips to hone your mental game. I thought it was an enlightening (pun intended) read and gave me tips to think about as I play more rounds this spring and summer. -sara

scrubbing

This shampoo had me wary since it looks like a body scrub, but after one use I'm hooked. It lathered up so nicely and it smells amazing. It's been a little luxury to start the day with the combination of rosemary, geranium, orange, and peppermint lingering on my hair. -brooke

wearing

Under par and overdressed? Goals. That’s a mentality that newly launched brand Byrdie Golf aspires to bring to women golfers. All of their products are made in the USA and founders Rachelle and Hayden’s love for timeless style shines through. The Hayden Dress fills my love of golf dresses that I can wear to brunch after a round. -abby

following

A recent follow that I've needed and loved is @sahdsimone. Bio is "making spirituality sassy" that's all it took to get me to follow and this account doesn't disappoint. -brooke

Golf 101: WTF is Golf Fashion?

If we originated and started playing the sport of golf today, would we wear polos and slacks? Bailey Chamblee joins us on the Fore the Ladies podcast to ponder this question as our professor in the next episode of Golf 101: WTF is Golf Fashion? We cover: What staples should be in your golf closet? What should you wear to a Fore the Ladies Clinic? Are there pieces you should save versus splurge on? And so much more.

sipping

I think everyone has heard of Spindrift by now - but this is my plug for the less-respected half-and-half Spinny. I think it's the perfect light Arnold Palmer - and you can always transform it into a John Daly with a quick splash of vodka. Cheers! -sara

carrying

After playing The Sandbox a few times at Sand Valley last fall and The Cradle at Pinehurst last month I'm realizing how much I like the Par 3 courses. Sure they are fun and can be a quick round, but I'm drawn to the challenge. I realized my short game needs a lot of practice and the par 3s really make me focus on putting some kind of strategy behind each shot. I'm on the west coast this month and next, so I've mapped out a few par 3 courses I want to play. The Hay at Pebble Beach, Golden Gate Park G.C. in San Francisco, and Bandon Preserve at Bandon Dunes. In an effort to travel lighter I researched some carry bags and alternative options to only bring along a few clubs to play these courses. I decided on this gray Titleist carry bag.

reading

Combine a crime story with golf and you’ve got me hooked. This novel by Beverly Bell is based on the tragically true story of Marion Miley, a highly decorated amateur golfer whose life was taken much too soon. -abby
