Hi all!
I hope that you'll be taking advantage of the summer solstice with a round of golf, a session at the driving range and all followed by some apres-golf patio time. I'm currently jet-setting around the U.S. for work and personal trips, but I can't wait to meet some of you at our NYC 9-hole outing and/or The Lily at Pinehurst Resort next month! It was also such a treat to see some of you at Oakmont last week, reminding me of how much our community has grown over time.
Before my personal travels, I started the month with 23 golfers in Aiken, S.C. for our very first FTL Field Trip. We spent the first of the month at Old Barnwell, a private national club that opened in 2023. The club has been nationally recognized as a top golf course in the U.S., but in addition to that, Old Barnwell has a mission to “create programs that empower, invite, and celebrate people and communities historically underrepresented in the game of golf – to create new traditions and a legacy that belong to everyone.”
We began the day with a much-needed putting lesson followed by playing a round on the rolling terrain. It was such a fun day and I loved seeing junior golfers play their adjacent Kids Course. This is all to say, I would love to host more of these Field Trips, where the FTL community gets to experience incredible golf courses and can make a trip of it or just join us for the day.
Play well out there, find your foursome on the FTL Geneva App and enjoy the finds!

Rhone has multiple active dresses on their site right now and I really like all of them! With the humidity increasing, I love having an outfit option that doesn't feel like it's sticking to my skin. This breezy dress does the trick.
Sometimes you just need a really good polo. In the North Carolina heat you'll catch me wearing sleeveless ones exclusively. Plus, Golf Galaxy has a BOGO offer right now on CALIA products!

I ordered this Wrap Skort from A. Putnam over Memorial Day Weekend! Psyched to make it my go to skort of the summer.

Power is a word frequently used in both the strength and conditioning world and the golf world.
So, what exactly is power? In strength and conditioning, power refers to the ability to produce force quickly. Essentially, how fast you can move an object. For example, can you move a barbell from the floor to overhead as quickly as possible? In golf, power is the ability to generate high clubhead speed to move the ball as far and fast as possible. You might remember from physics class that power is also a measurable output, recorded in watts.
It’s important to understand not only how to train power in the gym, but also how to transfer that training to the course. We touched on the kinematic sequence a few months ago and discussed the importance of lower body training for generating ground force reaction. The more power we can generate from the ground, the more efficiently we can transfer that force into the swing.
One way to train this in the gym is through plyometrics, which are explosive jumping movements that also support tendon health, bone density, and balance. If you're medically cleared to train and jump, here are a few plyometric exercises I recommend including in your routine:
Broad jumps
Lateral bounds
Depth jumps
Tuck jumps
Box Jumps
Split Squat Jumps
A little goes a long way with plyometrics. I would pick 1-2 exercises per workout. Performing about 3 sets of 3 to 6 reps of each exercise is typically enough. These are great to include in your warm-up or early in your workout, since they are neuromuscularly demanding and benefit from being performed when you’re fresh and focused.
