Fore the Ladies Finds: April 2025

Hi all!

I am just returning from a whirlwind few days at Sea Island for our first golf getaway of the year! I loved meeting the 35 amazing people who joined me and it was the perfect kickoff to the golf season. I think we may need to do more of these over Masters weekend because the atmosphere was so fun with everyone tuning into the tournament (what a tearjerker!) after playing. I leave these weekends with the biggest smile on my face and it tickles me that we have three more of these to go in 2025. Stay tuned for some fun content from this weekend, where you'll also get to meet some of the participants and hear about their incredible careers.

While our Bandon Dunes and Pinehurst golf trips are sold out, our final Golf Getaway of 2025 will be at Big Cedar Lodge from October 17-19, 2025. This trip is going to be seriously so luxe and fun. We will be playing 2 rounds of golf, plus you receive a $200 gift card to use on property (spa, more golf, up to you!), a private chef for our welcome reception and all accommodations are single occupancy in cottages atop the Payne's Valley course. While the perks are amazing, the memories made and golf played during these events are the centerpiece to these weekends.

Lastly, we've started 2026 Scotland registration and we have 3 spots left! Click here for our itinerary and pricing, and register if you'd like to hear more about this FTL Golf Getaway.

Without further ado, the April FTL Finds from Chelsea, Kristen, Sara and me!

Where will you play?

Upcoming Events

Our events through April our currently sold out (y'all are so ready for golf season!), but please feel free to sign up for a waitlist and register for our upcoming events here. We often pull from our waitlist when participants can no longer attend, so don't be shy and sign up.

Spark Golf Leagues

FTL is once again teaming up with Spark Golf leagues, which are super low-key, casual and fun 9-hole rounds (sound familiar? hello, happy hour 9s!). It's free to join a league and you pay as you play. Spark Golf is helping us coordinate FTL Teams for each location.

Once you sign up for a round, email help@spark.golf. In your subject line, write "Fore the Ladies" and the course you signed up for, as well as the date. Mention, "I’m ‘Name’ with Fore the Ladies in 'League Name.' Can you add me to the Fore the Ladies group for this league?" You'll then be included in that group moving forward. We also have Fore the Ladies specific leagues in Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago!

All are welcome to FTL events.

Chelsea

I found this layer in the pro shop last month, and I knew it was a keeper! It's going to be perfect for our upcoming FTL Bandon Dunes trip.

How long does a golf bag last? I'm not quite sure, but my golf bag is seven years old and still in great shape. If you're looking for a new golf bag, look no further than a Jones stand bag!

Abby

I've had my eye on this A.Putnam skirt for awhile and I know it's going to be a staple for me this season. It's preppy, chic and has pockets.

Adidas relaunched its originals line and this polo with tiny Trefoils is a fun retro look. I loved seeing Ludvig Aberg in a style of this during the Masters, and while I'm not typically a pink gal, this pale version is darling

I first saw this Foray Golf knit polo at the PGA Show and knew I needed it for the winter to spring transition season. It's buttery soft and dresses up my golf look.

Sara

Fresh golf season means I need some fresh socks to start my year! These are not a budget pick but they last forever and support your feet all day.

Kristen

A very cute golf sweater at a great price point ($39!). Rock Augusta-core vibes all season.

In April, our FTL Golf Getaway participants at Sea Island were gifted the cutest outfits from Dunning Golf! Their women's collection launched in Spring 2022 to the same exacting performance standards as its authentic men's golf collection, featuring clean lines, a sophisticated sense of color and patterns, and advanced technical fabrics. They are the Official Uniform Supplier of the U.S. Solheim Cup Team and we loved starting the crisp mornings in their Penrose 2.0 Hoodie.

Thank you to Dunning Golf for supporting our Sea Island event!

Fitness Focus with Samantha Rothberg

Hi again, I’m Samantha. I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 Fitness Coach. I live in the Hamptons year-round and coach clients virtually and in person. Over the years, I’ve helped numerous golfers in the weight room improve their game and am here to help give you some tips in the weight room.

I know that stepping into the weight room feels intimidating. But the gym is for everyone. It’s my happy place and I want to help you feel that way too!

Here are a few things that can help you ease your way into the weight room if you feel nervous or out of place.

  • Re-rack your weights. Leave the gym cleaner than you found it.

  • Be mindful of your space. Avoid setting up an obstacle course in the middle of the gym or blocking the weight rack by standing directly in front of the mirror.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Gym people love to help. Trainers or floor staff are there for this, just don’t interrupt if they’re mid session.

  • The biggest, strongest person in the gym is probably the nicest. They’ve been where you are, think gentle giants.

  • Don’t start a conversation mid-set. If someone’s about to squat heavy weight, wait until they’re done before asking a question or working in.

  • Clean up after yourself. Wipe down equipment when you're done.

  • Prioritize your main goal. If you're doing both strength and cardio, do the most important one first.

  • A 15-minute workout is better than no workout. Showing up consistently helps build the habit and also assuages your fear of the gym.

  • You don’t need trendy gym clothes to fit in. No one’s really watching. But if a cute outfit gets you excited to train, I fully support a shopping spree.

  • Avoid running shoes for lifting. Opt for flat shoes like Metcons, Converse, or even socks (if allowed) for better stability.

  • Bring a friend. You’re significantly more likely to get your workout in if you have an accountability partner! Especially when you’re starting out, having moral support can help ease some of your nerves.

  • Ask to work in if someone’s using a machine. It’s normal, and most people don’t mind. Asking to work in also shows you know the vocab.

  • Reset the weight after working in. This is a small touch that earns you serious gym cred.

  • And lastly please try to remember, most people are focused on their own workouts. That intense gym face is likely just concentration. Gym people are often some of the kindest people out there. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, make friends, and most importantly, enjoy the gains!

If you would like to schedule a complimentary TPI screening over Zoom, or have an idea for something you’d like me to cover in the next newsletter, please reach out via Instagram @samantharothberg or my website www.samantharothbergfitness.com. Happy training!
