Golf 101: How to play foursomes or alternate shot

This week #AbbyandGabby are playing a foursomes golf match and you can, too, the next time you tee it up. Also commonly called “alternate shot,” this game is a form of match play or stroke play where you and a partner compete as a side by playing one ball in alternating order on each hole.

For example, Abby hit the tee shot, so Gabby goes next with the approach. We continued to alternate until we holed out. We could play this against another team of 2 in a match or against a full field of stroke play.

Let us know if you try it out! We recommend giving it a shot at your next Happy Hour 9.
