fore the ladies finds

volume 2, issue 11

"I really had to learn to separate an outcome from my happiness." Lilia Vu, Symetra Tour graduate on the Fore the Ladies podcast (see below)!

Hi there!

Time to put away the caddie uniforms and golfer costumes (yes, we procrastinated, too). We’re less than two weeks away from our Hearts & Darts getaway at Streamsong Resort and can’t wait to see some of you! This is the final stretch of Fore the Ladies events for 2021, but we’re excited to share where we’re headed in 2022 very soon (aside from Bandon, cat’s out of the bag on that one).

Between good reads, items to keep you warm on the course and normalizing Thanksgiving food … we understood the assignment for this month’s newsletter. Next month, keep an eye out for our gift guide and favorite moments of 2021.

If you haven’t yet, we’d love for you to take a few moments to complete our community survey. We’re trying to find out more about you, your experience with FTL and more. We’ll be sending some FTL swag to one lucky participant. Thank you for your continued support!

UPCOMING EVENTS

november finds

warming

“Mom (and non-mom) - hack! Attach these mitts (that are technically made-for-strollers) to your push cart and keep your hands toasty all winter!” -kristen

practicing

“Whenever I feel a little stuck in my game and want a quick tip, I head to Instagram (guilty!). This drill from Trillium Rose is great when I know I’ll be spending more time inside rather than the golf course. All about that muscle memory!” -abby

feasting

"Stuffing is my #1 favorite thing for Thanksgiving - and this recipe is one of my faves. I may make it more than once this month... normalize making stuffing not on Thanksgiving!” -sara

reflecting

“No matter how bad my round might be, I always think back on all the benefits I'm getting from just being out on the course.” -brooke

Ladies of Golf: Lilia Vu

“At a few points over the last couple years, I thought about putting the clubs away and going to law school, but my mom convinced me otherwise.” - Lilia Vu

We spoke with Lilia Vu, who finished 1st on the Race for the Card money list to earn her LPGA card for 2022, as our next Ladies of Golf feature.

Lilia won 3 times and posted 8 top-5 finishes on the Symetra Tour in 2021. She was named Symetra Tour Player of the Year and will return to the LPGA for the first time since 2019. Lilia has had quite the golf journey and now places a beautiful emphasis on mindfulness into her game and life which I found incredibly interesting. I hope you enjoy this Ladies of Golf ep, which is brought to you by the USGA.

Please consider giving us a rating and review while you tune in! -abby

wearing

“I'll be trying these lined joggers as an alternative to my typical two-pairs of pants during chilly rounds.” -kristen

layering

“A personal favorite layer from Foray (there are even hidden pockets!)...I snagged mine playing in The Lily @ Pinehurst this past year. Run, don't walk to grab one of the last few sizes of this fabulous piece at nearly 50% off.” -kristen

moisturizing

“I borrowed a bit of this from my friend (shoutout Caitlin), and now I can’t go back. It’s incredibly moisturizing and I like to layer it with a lipstick because it’s not sticky like other balms.” -abby

warming

“These neck warmers were designed for ski. I love them as a way to stay warm on the course and add some style to my bundled up look.” -kristen

Thanks for reading! We’ll close the newsletter with this article Brooke found, in which she shared - “Love it when two worlds collide and I see golf focused articles featured where I typically look for and only expect to find fashion and pop culture updates.” GOLFCORE (who knew this was a term?)
