This month’s newsletter is brought to you by Imperial, who is providing hats to all participants at every clinic in 2021!
"I always say golf doesn't owe you anything. And I think that's the beauty of it ... no matter how hard we work, sometimes it just doesn't pay off." -Danielle Kang in CNN
Hey y’all -
We had such an epic month (so please excuse the delayed newsletter) and with it being lighter outside longer, it’s safe to say we are so back. Our very first golf getaway - The Lily at Pinehurst Resort - was such a success, we’re already working on our next one, so keep an eye out for it! It was incredibly inspiring to see 68 women across course No. 4, playing golf, cheering each other on and simply having an awesome time. We put together a little guide to Pinehurst following the trip, which you can check out here.
Five Iron Golf’s spring league begins in just two weeks, so if you’re in NYC, Philly, Chicago, Baltimore or Vegas, and want to participate on Team FTL email abby@foretheladies.net. NYC’ers, please let me know which location your prefer - Flatiron, FiDi or Herald Square!
Last, but not least, we’re trying out something new called Patreon. Since FTL is a non-profit and people are always asking how they can help, we decided to make an account and we’ll try to produce exclusive content and opportunities there for members!

mixing
My friend Rachel, who I met in person for the first time while at The Lily at Pinehurst, founded this unique company called The Events Caddie. They have a variety of services, including these curated kits that have recognizable golf themes. They will ship their cocktail kits across the U.S., so if interested, email sluckman@occasionscaterers.com by March 26 for a certain April delivery. -abby

reading
I just finished reading The Biggest Bluff, by Anna Konnikova, which details the author's "experiment" of learning poker, leading to her win of a high-stakes poker tournament and becoming a sponsored, professional player. It was fascinating to learn about the mental side of the game as the author has a PhD in Psychology. -sara
customizing
How clean is this hat?! We designed it for our all of our clinics in 2021 thanks to Imperial’s custom site. You can upload your own logo or use their design tools to create your own hat or t-shirt. It gets better: Imperial has offered our newsletter readers 20% off the custom site with promo code: FORE21. Happy designing! Sponsored content
Ladies of Golf: Charlotte Gibson, ESPN
Charlotte shares her story with golf and how she played collegiately while also having the opportunity to explore other activities. We talk about how stories come to life at ESPN and ESPNW, where golf fits into the overall landscape at ESPN and Charlotte’s sense of duty to amplify female stories.
watching
Unfortunately I have been quarantined for the past two weeks due to COVID, so I have found lots of new shows to entertain me! This French show, Call My Agent, has been my favorite so far. The episodes are hilarious, the characters are so well acted and entertaining, and it's truly a delight. -sara
wearing
I wore the Footjoy Sport Retros at Pinehurst and really like them for on and off the course. I know it’s in the name, but I do like the retro wingtip look and they come in four colors, as well as a more approachable price point. -abby
jamming
Update your spring golf course bops playlist with some Remi Wolf - her songs are upbeat and perfect for your spring rounds. -brooke
